CONCORD — Landon Norman, a rising 6th grade student at Elkin Elementary School, recently participated in and won the MLB Pitch, Hit and Run competition held at the D-bat Baseball Complex in Concord on May 28.

Major League Baseball’s Pitch, Hit and Run competition is a free event that provides boys and girls ages 7 to 14 an opportunity to showcase their baseball and softball skills, while earning a chance to attend and perform during the MLB World Series.

Norman won the 11-12 year old baseball division from over 150 participants and has qualified to advance to the MLB Team Championships to be held in August. Norman has chosen to travel to the NY Yankees Stadium to participate on Team Yankees to try to advance to the MLB World Series Championship in October.
