    Concord house badly damaged in 2-alarm fire, no injuries reported

    CONCORD, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A house was badly damaged in a 2-alarm fire Friday morning in Concord, authorities confirmed.

    The fire happened just before 7:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, along Hearth Lane Southwest.

    Officials said as emergency crews arrived at the scene, they saw smoke and flames showing from the back and attic areas of the two-story house.

    One resident was home at the time of the fire but was already outside when firefighters arrived. A second alarm was called at 7:56 a.m. and the fire was brought under control by 8:18 a.m.

    Thankfully, no injuries have been reported. The American Red Cross is assisting the homeowner.

    A total of 40 firefighters responded to the scene Friday morning. The cause of the house fire remains under investigation at this time.
