Altoona Woman Charged With Leaving Child in Vehicle
An Altoona woman is facing felony charges after leaving a 4-month old in a vehicle while grocery shopping. 40 year old Jade Diggs was charged after police were called to a home located along Oak Avenue in Altoona. Authorities had been informed that there was an infant that had been left in the vehicle while Diggs had gone shopping earlier. The temperature outside the car was 90 degrees at the time. Reportedly, the infant was taken to UPMC Altoona after showing signs of lethargy, as well as heavy and rapid breathing. Diggs reportedly told authorities she left the child in the vehicle because he had fallen asleep. Diggs is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault of a victim less than 13, a felony charge of endangering the welfare of a child, and numerous other related counts. She is currently in the Blair County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 24th.

PSP INVESTIGATING INCIDENT NEAR REGENCY MALL COMPLEX
State police are investigating an incident that occurred near the Regency Mall complex last night. The investigation started at 5:23 PM near Pompano Drive of White Township in The Grove apartment complex. State police Public Information Officer Trooper Cliff Greenfield said that during that incident, officers conducted a traffic stop in front of Tres Amigos on a vehicle that was believed to be involved in the incident.

Kenneth "Kenny" Walter, 89, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 14, 2024. Kenny was the son of David D. and Ruth (Bowser) Walter, born in Salemville, Aug. 22, 1934. Kenny was the father of two sons: Brian (Tina) and Barry, both of New Enterprise; three grandchildren: Kendra Free (Jason), Hunter Walter, and Olivia Walter; two great-grandsons: Bryson and Jordan Free; and numerous nieces and nephews.
