Caitlin Clark is looking forward to some time off after a record-setting night
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Caitlin Clark is savoring the thought of some time off even though the Indiana star wanted to go to the Olympics. Clark didn't look like she needed a break while setting a WNBA record with 19 assists in a game in the Fever's finale before the stoppage heading into the Paris Games. Clark's milestone came in a 101-93 loss to the Dallas Wings. It's not quite time for Clark to take a breather. She's playing for the WNBA All-Stars against the U.S. women's Olympic team in Phoenix this weekend. Indiana's season resumes Aug. 16 against Phoenix.
CLEARFIELD COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH ROBBERY
State police in Indiana have charged a Clearfield County man following a robbery Tuesday afternoon in White Township. Troopers say 22-year-old Nicholas Joseph Holbert of Osceola Mills was charged with a felony count of robbery along with misdemeanor charges of possessing instruments of crime and theft by unlawful taking for the incident along Pompano Drive.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - For the second consecutive week, Minor League Baseball has named Somerset Patriots OF Elijah Dunham the Eastern League Player of the Week. Over five games played during the Patriots' six-game series facing the Erie SeaWolves from July 8-14, Dunham went 8-for-19 (.421) with 2 HR, 4 RBI, 4 R, 4 XBH, 2 SB and a 1.342 OPS. Fishing derby
The ICHTHYS Bass Club of Altoona held its 16th annual Jack Swisher Memorial Fishing Derby on May 25 at Canoe Creek State Park, Hollidaysburg. A total of 11 children from Juniata Valley Elementary School spent the morning and afternoon with the club members. The children were given a derby T-shirt, a tackle box filled with fishing items and also a quality rod and reel to keep. The children were given safety instructions on the proper way to use their fishing equipment by Dale A. Harten, club president. Each child was partnered with a member or volunteer and went fishing for several hours. Lunch was provided. The club raised about $1,500 for the event. Donations were made by the following sponsors (all are from Altoona except where noted): Colleen Swisher, Frostburg, Fla.; Horseshoe Curve Chapter of the Harley Owners Group; DJ’s Cafe, Tyrone; American Legion Riders Post 520, Alexandria; Hamers Auto Body and Towing; Intrepid Design LLC; Rudy’s Lawn Care, Port Matilda; Double Tap Indoor Gun Range; Shields Brothers and Mallow’s Hardware.
