ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Caitlin Clark is savoring the thought of some time off even though the Indiana star wanted to go to the Olympics. Clark didn't look like she needed a break while setting a WNBA record with 19 assists in a game in the Fever's finale before the stoppage heading into the Paris Games. Clark's milestone came in a 101-93 loss to the Dallas Wings. It's not quite time for Clark to take a breather. She's playing for the WNBA All-Stars against the U.S. women's Olympic team in Phoenix this weekend. Indiana's season resumes Aug. 16 against Phoenix.

Junior Fair Board Hosts Exciting Lineup of Events at 150th Bedford County Fair
The Junior Fair Board announces a series of events as part of the 150th Bedford County Fair. From ceremonies to activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy. A cornhole tournament will be held at 6 p.m. in the Show Arena. Teams can sign up on the day of the tournament at the Fair. The Grandstand for a Military/Veteran Appreciation Ceremony takes place on July 22 at 5 p.m. Ceremony highlights include community speakers, music by Route 869, honored guests, and a Blackhawk helicopter appearance. Come out to honor those who serve and have served our country with valor. Following the military ceremony, the Grandstand will be at 7 p.m. with ‘Voices on the Grandstand,’ featuring performers from our local community. Woodbury Township July Meeting
At the June meeting, Woodbury Township Chairman Joe Lansberry said there had been multiple complaints regarding the intersection of Bluebird Drive and Robin Lane; supervisors gave permission to Solicitor Aimee Willett to write an ordinance for the installation of the stop sign. At the July 3 meeting, supervisors voted to advertise the ordinance with Paul Harclerode making motion and Rich Easter seconding, motion passed.
Geeseytown-Newry Lutheran Hosts Upcoming Events
Newry Lutheran Church, 1030 Shamrock Ln., will distribute bags of food from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, in the church social hall. The “Meal in a Bag” will contain enough food to prepare dinner for a family. Bags will be distributed while supplies last at no charge; no income guidelines exist to receive the bag of nonperishable food items. Bags are distributed monthly on the last Saturday of each month.

Eleven-year-old Adelaide Rose MacNeill’s life was turned upside down when her parents were suddenly killed in a storm between Prince Edward Island and the mainland. Her parents had taken a trip to the mainland to shop but the ferry ride home was swept away by the storm. She didn’t know who identified the bodies. All Adelaide found of her mother was a shoe. There were many funerals held the next week. Her half-brother, Lemuel, came for the funeral and to settle their parents’ estate. It was all a whirlwind for Adelaide to see her parents’ cherished possessions hauled away and her home sold. Lemuel didn’t lose any time. He announced that she would be going to a women’s boarding school, Lakeside Ladies Academy in Connecticut. She would never return to PEI.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Caitlin Clark had 19 assists to break the WNBA game record in the Indiana Fever’s 101-93 loss to the Dallas Wings on Wednesday night in the final WNBA contest before the month-long break for the Olympics. Clark broke the mark of 18 set by Courtney Vandersloot for Chicago against Indiana on Aug. 31, 2020. Vandersloot also had 18 in a playoff game Sept. 28, 2021. The record-breaker came on a play where she set Kelsey Mitchell up for a 3-pointer with 2:22 remaining. That tied it at 93, but Dallas closed with an 8-0 run. Odyssey Sims and Arike Ogunbowale each scored 24 points for Dallas (6-19). Aliyah Boston led Indiana (11-15) with a career-high 28 points. Clark had 24 points.
