Women opens account in relatives name, accrues charges
A Manns Choice woman was charged with identity theft and theft of services after allegedly opening an electricity account in the name of a close relative. In August of 2021, Tracy Gauthier, 54, opened a Penelec account using a close female relative’s name and identity information without her knowledge.
PSP REPORTS: DUI, HARASSMENT
Charges are pending against a Saltsburg man following an incident of DUI earlier this month in White Township. State police say they conducted a traffic stop along the 1300 block of Indian Springs Road shortly after 10 p.m. on July 6th and found the driver, identified only as a 45-year-old man from Saltsburg, under the influence of a controlled substance. Charges are pending in this case.

Off Pitt Street Theater Company, located at 110 W. Pitt St., Suite 2, Bedford, has announced its upcoming auditions. “Merry Wives of Windsor” auditions will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 and 2 p.m. Aug. 4. Actors ages 16 and older may audition. Show dates are 7 p.m. Sept. 13, 14, 20, 21 and 2 p.m. Sept. 15. Sign-ups are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Actors ages 18 and older can sign up to be cast in an original murder mystery that will be staged at Royer Mansion in Williamsburgat 6 p.m. Sept. 28. The first 10 people who register online at www.offpittstreet.com will be cast. Rehearsals will beheld four times over six weeks in Bedford, and the dress rehearsal and show will take place in Williamsburg. SECOND STRUCTURE FIRE, AUTOMATIC ALARMS REPORTED WEDNESDAY
Along with last night’s fire in Homer City, there were just a few other calls for first responders over the last 24 hours in Indiana County. The only other major call was another reported structure fire along Mahoning Road in Cherry Tree Borough. Cherry Tree, Commodore, and Hope Fire Departments were dispatched at 10:55 PM. Details on that fire have not yet been released.
Jackson Township promotes 2 at fire department, agrees to field upgrades at North Park
ACTION: Appointed Gary H. Martin as training battalion chief and swore in a new captain for the fire department. DISCUSSION: Trustees appointed and swore in full-time Training Battalion Chief Gary H. Martin for the fire department, effective July 1, at a salary of $100,480. Martin was promoted from captain, a position he held since 2012.

White Township man waives strangulation charge to Armstrong County court
KITTANNING — Strangulation and other charges against an Indiana County resident have been waived to court. On Wednesday, James William Taylor’s right to a preliminary hearing was waived, a move which prompted Kittanning Magisterial District Judge Kenneth Bussard to bind their case over to the Armstrong County Court of Common Pleas.
