Farmville to host first Rub'n Shoulders barbecue festival and cook-off
Farmville is home to four barbecue restaurants in an area of about three miles. That proximity to pork is part of the inspiration for the town’s newest event, Rub’n Shoulders. State to create public fishing area on 555 acres near Grimesland
Construction is expected to begin later this summer on Pitt County’s first public fishing area managed by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission. The NC Department of Health and Human Services this week celebrates the second anniversary of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. In the past two years, 988 crisis counselors in North Carolina have responded to nearly 190,000 calls, texts and chats, providing critical access to mental health and substance use crisis support. In its second year of service, the number of North Carolinians contacting 988 each month has nearly doubled.
Leaders welcome Japanese manufacturer expected to build plant, add 232 jobs in Pitt County
