DENVER (KDVR) – A couple from Conifer had a happy reunion with the first responders who were there when their baby girl was born.
According to West Metro Fire Rescue, Chelsea and Jeff Brinkley waited a bit too long after contractions started and weren’t able to make it to the hospital for delivery.
Instead, they got to the Quincy Avenue exit on 470 and pulled off to call 911.
A Morrison police officer was the first to arrive, and he was shortly joined by Quinn when mom gave birth in the front seat.
West Metro Engine 11 and Medic 10 soon arrived to make sure everyone was healthy and safe, then off the Brinkleys went to the hospital, with one more person in the car than when they’d left home.
According to West Metro, Quinn weighed 5 pounds, 3 ounces when she was born on May 6.
Jennifer told the West Metro Fire crews that she was actually named Autumn for an hour or so, but when the doctor asked “How’s Autumn?” a decision was made to change it to Quinn after the street where she was born.
