Iowa state colleges see a decline in global ranking, international student enrollment
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The University of Iowa and Iowa State University have received lower rankings compared to previous years in the U.S. News & World Global Ranking report. UI has been ranked 225, and Iowa State 344. This year's report was out of 2,250 schools across more than 100 countries. UI saw a double-digit drop compared to 5 years ago, and Iowa State saw a triple digit drop.
Iowa Falls Police Make an Arrest Monday Morning
Monday after 10:00 a.m. the Iowa Falls Police Department was called out on the report of a resident making threats toward other residents at a home along College Avenue. Upon arrival, Iowa Falls police arrested 32-year-old Jennifer Carty of Iowa Falls on two counts of assault, one count of interference with official acts causing bodily injury and one count of assault on persons in certain occupations.

Eldora-New Providence School Board Approves Substitute Teacher Pay for 2024-25 School Year
Monday, the Eldora-New Providence School Board approved to enter the design drawing and bid preparation phase for the E-NP Elementary renovation and addition project. In other business, the Eldora-New Providence School Board approved the daily substitute pay rate of $150 per day for the 2024-25 school year. The E-NP School Board also received an update on the hiring process ahead of the next school year. The board learned the district is still in need of bus drivers but is otherwise fully staffed.
