(Des Moines, Iowa) – Officials with the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau report, 35-year-old Amanda Manatt, of Marshalltown, was recently charged with one count of Insurance Fraud – Presenting False Information (Class D Felony). The charge was the result of an investigation by the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau that began in April of 2024.

Three local softball teams competed at Day 2 of the Dave Lee Tournament at BCLUW Saturday. AGWSR lost 10-4 to #6 (3A) Sumner-Fredericksburg and fell to BCLUW 7-2. #12 (2A) South Hardin fell to Gilbert 7-2 and lost to Marshalltown 3-1. Grundy Center defeated Marshalltown 5-4 and lost to Gilbert 2-1.
Bobcat Softball and Baseball Face Waterloo East 6/10
Last night the Marshalltown Bobcat baseball team brought a 16 game losing streak to the diamond. They had a doubleheader against Waterloo East, and game 1 went similar to the previous 16 games, the Bobcats lose 6 – 3. Zander Stupp pitched game 2 and was phenomenal, he pitched 6 and 2/3rds innings only allowing 1 hit and 1 unearned run. He struck out 7 and surrendered 1 walk. Stupp’s performance set up the struggling bobcat offense to only need a few runs. The game went to extra innings tied 1 – 1 and in the bottom of the 8th, pinch runner Bennett Ricken scored on a wild pitch giving the Bobcats the victory. That moves their record to 2 – 17 on the season. They are set to face off against Ottumwa at home on Wednesday this week.

Reward offered for info. leading to the arrest of a Marshalltown Murder suspect
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa [KCCI] — A reward is now being offered for information that leads to the arrest of a suspect in a deadly shooting at a Marshalltown bar last weekend. In a criminal complaint, authorities say 18-year-old Victor Delgadillo, of Marshalltown, is suspected in Saturday’s shooting at Center Street Station Bar that left one person dead. Police say he is believed to be armed and dangerous. Marshall County Crime Stoppers is now offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to Delgadillo’s apprehension. Tipsters are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 641-753-1234.
Dike-New Hartford Baseball surges late to beat Clear Lake Tuesday, Softball and Baseball hosting Wapsie Valley Wednesday
The Dike-New Hartford baseball team took advantage of opportunities in the late innings to secure an 11-4 home win over Clear Lake Tuesday in non-conference action. Clear Lake scored once each in the second and fifth innings to take a 2-0 lead. But the Wolverines picked up momentum in the bottom of the fifth. Lewis Textor walked with the bases loaded to score the first run, which was followed by Cameron Decker stealing home to tie the game. Micah Walston was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, giving the Wolverines a 3-2 lead. In the next at-bat, Gavin Gerbracht hit a bouncer to third that was bobbled, and each runner advanced on the error to take a 4-2 lead. Conner Dancer walked with the bases loaded to score the fifth run, and Walston scored on a wild pitch to increase the lead to 6-2.
