The public ticket sale for Oasis 2025 reunion tour sparked memories of the fiasco surrounding Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” in 2022, as thousands of fans faced a myriad of technical issues and other obstacles that ultimately prevented them from securing tickets.

Tickets to Oasis’ first concerts in 16 years went on sale Saturday through Ticketmaster . In the days leading up to the on-sale, fans were required to sign up for a pre-sale lottery in order for a chance to purchase tickets. It’s estimated that only 2.3% of fans who signed up for the lottery ended up receiving a purchase code. However, those lucky enough to advance to the public on-sale weren’t guaranteed a ticket.

During Saturday’s public on-sale, fans reported waiting in queues for up to three hours, only to eventually see Ticketmaster’s website “crash” or redirect to an “Error 503” page. Other fans, such as British politician Zarah Sultana, an MP for the Labour Party, were redirected to a page accusing them of suspicious “bot”-like behavior.

Some fans were also infuriated to to discover that Ticketmaster had implemented a surge pricing option for select tickets. These “In Demand Standing” tickets were priced at three to four times the face value of standard tickets. Additionally, Ticketmaster offered “platinum” and other premium packages, with prices starting at €350 per ticket.

All the while, Oasis is seeking to limit the number of tickets available on secondary ticket platforms. Ahead of today’s public on-sale, the band warned buyers that any tickets that appeared “on secondary ticketing sites are either counterfeit or will be cancelled by the promoters.” Instead, Oasis is advising fans to use Twickets or Ticketmaster’s Fan-to-Fan service, which limits the sales amount to face value.

However, as of Saturday afternoon, there are no tickets available to buy on Twickets, whereas hundreds of tickets are available to purchase on secondary resellers such as Viagogo . In a statement to BBC, Viagogo’s global managing director, Cris Miller, said that Oasis fans can use the platform without concern as “resale is legal in the UK.”

Oasis’ reunion tour is set to get underway in summer 2025 with shows in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. Additional plans are underway for the band to play concerts in other continents outside of Europe later next year, but additional details are still forthcoming.
