10-Year-Old Cranford Girl Running in the USATF Junior Olympics
CRANFORD, NJ – Sandra Jakubuik always loved to run around with her friends. She was so quick, her parents asked if she wanted to join the Westfield Area YMCA Flyers Track Club in September 2023. By December, she had qualified and ran in the Junior Olympics in Kentucky. “I love running because it keeps me active,” Jakubuik told TAPinto Cranford. “And it challenges me to be better.” Sandra set her club record this season by running the 3000m race in 12:07 at the regional meet in the girls 11-12 age group (she doesn’t turn 11 until September, but it’s determined by birth year). CSF Soccer Academy is hosting its Summer Camp from August 5 to August 8 at Panther Park’s Lower Turf Field, located at 118 W. Bradford Ave. in Cedar Grove.
