With a roster full of transfers from D-1 schools and notably Texas Tech, Abilene Christian came in to Lubbock with a chip on their shoulder and a new offensive coordinator running the Air Raid 2.0. They gave Tech all they could handle. You have to give them credit as they made some great catches and kept the Tech defense on their heals all night long. Not only did the likes of Martinez, Cleveland and Castle give Tech plenty of fits but also Izaiah Kelley who is a former Lubbock Coronado standout. Then there was former Tech recruit and player Maverick McIvor who got accurate throws out to his receivers quickly and put up 515 yards through the air. Offensive Coordinator Rick Bowie did a very good job of getting his offense ready to play Tech and continuously called plays that kept his team on the field and Tech's defense guessing.
