    THP trooper spent first full day in rehabilitation facility after shooting incident

    COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper (THP) shot during a traffic stop spent his first full day in a rehabilitation facility, THP’s Cookeville district said.

    THP Cookeville posted a photo to its official X page on Sunday, July 28 stating that Trooper Adam Cothron spent his first full day at a rehabilitation facility.

    Cothron had been shot during a traffic stop on Friday, July 19, leading to a statewide Blue Alert . Both suspects wanted in connection with the incident, Braze Rucker and Timothy L. Davis Jr. , have since been taken into custody.

    “Thank you each and everyone for your support,” the post read in part. “Please continue to lift him up in your prayers.”

    Several efforts to support Cothron and his family have cropped up throughout Middle Tennessee. Tennessee Soul BBQ announced that they would be selling whole briskets and pork butts on Saturday, Aug. 3.

    “We’ll also be selling bottles of sauce August 2nd and 3rd,” the post read. “ALL proceeds that we make next weekend go to Trooper Cothron and his family.”
