    10-Minute Pizza Sauce

A good pizza sauce makes ALL the difference in the flavor and end result of your dish. Personally, I've not found any commercially processed pizza sauces that don't taste.... fake, so I made my own. I'm not a huge fan of tomatoes in a can as they tend to taste a bit metallic, but you use what you've got and it's 1000 times better than storebought. Fresh tomatoes are in season right now though, so if you can get them fresh, more power to ya!

It's surprisingly simple and takes only a few minutes. Here's all you need for about 3 cups of sauce:

    Ingredients:

    • 1, 15 oz can diced tomatoes, undrained
    • 1, 6 oz can tomato paste
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 2 Tbl italian seasoning
    • 1 tsp dried oregano
    • 1/2 Tbl garlic salt
    • 1/2 tsp onion powder
    • 1/2 tsp dried basil
    • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Combine diced tomatoes and tomato paste in a food processor and pulse until your desired consistency. Pour into a medium sized bowl and add the remaining ingredients. (Depending on the brand of tomatoes and tomato paste you use, you may need to adjust sugar and salt up or down a little. I would recommend a taste test prior to adding the salt and sugar so you can decide how much to use).

Stir to combine well, and feel free to adjust any of the spices to you and your familie's liking. You can also add some red pepper flakes for some kick if you'd like.

Use as a pizza spread, as a breadstick dipping sauce, or for my homemade pizza rolls here:
