Flash flooding closed portion of I-635 in Dallas
DALLAS – Flash flooding Monday morning caused a portion of I-635 to shut down. Westbound I-635 at Garland Road in Dallas was shut down because it was completely flooded. Between 1.5 and 4 inches of rain fell in a three-hour time frame on Monday.Two vehicles were disabled in the middle of the road. At one point, water was up to the windshield of the vehicles.As of 9 a.m. Monday, far right lanes were getting by while crews were working in the road.Texas Department of Transportation cameras showed traffic backed up about five miles.
