One dead, one injured in Killeen motorcycle crash
KILLEEN, Texas (FOX 44) – A 39-year-old man has died in a Killeen motorcycle crash, while a 27-year-old man has been injured. Killeen police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Hackberry Drive at approximately 11:36 p.m. Sunday in reference to a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2014 GMC cargo van was traveling southbound on MLK and was turning left onto Hackberry Drive. A 2017 Suzuki motorcycle, occupied by two, was traveling northbound on MLK and struck the cargo van at a very high rate of speed.
Killeen police warn community of rising fentanyl use
KILLEEN, Texas — Authorities in Killeen have issued a warning about an alarming increase in fentanyl use within the community. Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that is 50-100 times more potent than morphine, poses a significant risk even in small amounts, according to a press release from the Killeen Police Department. The drug can be mixed with other substances without the user's knowledge, making it particularly dangerous.
