Naples (Fla.) First Baptist Academy four-star receiver Jayden Petit has already visited Miami once, but today the No. 152 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking and No. 24 receiver in the 2026 class will get his most in-depth look at Coral Gables yet.

The 6-foot-4, 196-pound wideout has already landed more than 10 offers from programs including Auburn, Penn State and Ole Miss but has been in communication with Miami receivers coach Kevin Beard and offensive line assistant Edwin Pata, he told CaneSport . Petit visited Miami this spring but has not been on campus since early February.

Miami Hurricanes to host 50+ players, blue-chip recruits at recruiting cookout

“Just to continue the relationship we have going right now and just keep building it,” Petit said of why he chose to visit Miami this weekend over other programs. “I’d say they’re hitting me up pretty often. We’re always in contact if not every day then every two days. They’ve hit me up pretty often (since coaches became permitted to directly contact 2026 recruits in mid-June).”

Petit said Miami’s staff has made a strong impression early on and thinks its full of “great people to be around” and thinks the Hurricanes are building a championship contender. He added he thinks the staff is full of people a player could see himself around every day.

Clemson, Kansas, Missouri, UCF and USF have also been in contact with the consensus four-star prospect. He added he doesn’t believe distance from home will play a factor in his ultimate decision, although he hasn’t started narrowing down his list of schools.

He plans to visit Miami with his father, his cousins and two of his friends.

    CaneSport’s Take

Recruiting coordinator and director of high school relations Joe Brown deserves a ton of props for spotting Petit early and beginning his recruitment earlier this year after a 1,100-yard, 16-touchdown sophomore season, and his stock only rose this spring. Petit has quickly developed into a consensus blue-chip prospect and will likely continue to gain national recruiting attention this fall. Assuming Petit maintains its interest in Miami, he could be the kind of future big-frame, physical receiver the Hurricanes are starting to look for in future recruiting classes.
