BARBOURVILLE, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Corbin man allegedly assaulted a woman and then dragged her into a garage in Gray.

Knox County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that around 11:50 p.m. on Sunday, deputies responded to find a man standing outside of a garage. The office said that when he was told to stop, he ran inside the garage and closed the door.

Dupities and officers with the Corbin City Police Department entered the building after the man didn’t let them in.

When they entered, they found 35-year-old Craig Stone, of Corbin, and a woman. The woman allegedly told officers that Stone hit and choked her and then forced her into the garage.

The office said Stone became combative and then was placed under arrest.

Stone was charged with kidnapping/adult, first-degree strangulation, fourth-degree assault, menacing, second-degree disorderly conduct, first-degree fleeing or evading police, and resisting arrest.

Stone is being held in the Knox County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond. His preliminary hearing will be held on July 22.
