A gardening tool was the source of the Quail Run Fire that prompted the evacuation of a dozen homes near Cordes Lake on Saturday afternoon, according to authorities. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office attributed a man using a weed eater as the cause behind the blaze, which spread quickly and destroyed two unoccupied homes, Paul Wick, a public affairs officer for the Sheriff's Office, said Monday.

YCSO's very own Deputy Do-Right was the honored guest at halftime of the NAZ Wranglers IFL football game in Prescott Valley July 13th, as the Wranglers wished Do-Right a happy birthday. The large crowd joined in the celebration by singing "Happy Birthday", and Wrangler mascot Whiskie presented his counterpart with a bag of Wranglers swag, including an autographed picture of QB Joshua Jones. Do-Right is always a crowd favorite at Wrangler games, mingling with the fans, getting pictures with the kids, and taking part in things like the opening coin toss and several halftime special events.
