Hall County Schools will hold a formal dedication ceremony on Monday for its newest elementary school. Sandra Dunagan Deal Elementary School opened its doors to students earlier this month. It’s named after the former Georgia first lady who died in 2022 after a battle with cancer. Herrera promoted to lieutenant colonel
Lt. Col. Catherine Herrera, '07, returned to the University of North Georgia (UNG) for her recent lieutenant colonel promotion ceremony. Herrera serves as chief of the Human Factors section at the U.S. Army Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) School at Fort Novosel, Alabama. She is grateful for the chance to put her bachelor's degree in psychology from UNG to use daily. Her time as a student in the UNG Department of Psychological Science inspired her to pursue her doctorate and enter the Army as a psychologist.

Malaki Starks becomes Georgia's first player with Rhoback NIL deal
Georgia's All-American safety has struck another NIL deal. Malaki Starks has been one of Georgia's faces of the name, image and likeness movement. He added to that marketability on Sunday. Marietta Art in the Park Festival takes place on the Square on Labor Day weekend
Art in the Park returns to the Marietta Square in 2024. The fine arts festival will run from Saturday, August 31st through Monday, September 2nd. The festival hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The events take place in and around Glover Park, on the historic Marietta Square.
