An Oregon high school coach who allegedly woke players up in the middle of the night during a team camp and began slapping them appeared in court on Wednesday. Newberg volleyball announces middle school and high school camps
Newberg volleyball has announced the dates of two camps the Tigers are hosting this summer ahead of the fall season. The middle school and high school camps will run Aug. 12-15 at Newberg High School, just a few days before the high school season's first practice date on Aug. 19. The middle school camp will be from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m., while the high school camp directly follows from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The camp fees are $40 for middle schoolers and $60 for high schoolers. All camp fees will be redirected into the program's funds. Participants will receive a camp shirt. Payment can be made via cash or check made out to NHS Volleyball on the first day of camp. Pilots Well-Represented at 2024 Summer Olympics
PARIS – University of Portland Athletics will be well-represented at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, with seven former student-athletes representing their countries. Portland Pilots Track and Cross Country has plenty of competitors on both the men's and women's side, with six runners competing over the few weeks. On the men's side, Woody Kincaid (United States), Michael Somers (Belgium) and Cathal Doyle (Ireland) will be the UP alums represented. Kincaid will run in the 10,000-meter, Somers will run in the marathon and Doyle will compete in the 1,500-meter. This is the first time Somers and Doyle are competing and the second time for Kincaid.
