Orange County to Purchase Maple Avenue Building
CHESTER – On Monday, July 9, Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus officially signed the resolution, entering into an agreement to purchase the Maple Avenue Building located in the Village of Chester. The future of the building has been under consideration for some time, including a failed referendum in 2019 until on July 2nd, the Orange County Legislature moved the process of acquiring ownership along with a unanimous vote.

Munger Cottage: Air Conditioning & Programming Notice
As you may be aware, the HVAC system at Munger Cottage is no longer working and is beyond repair. Our Building Department has been keeping the current system running, making repairs and adding refrigerant as needed over the years, but it has now reached the end of its useful life. The Town Board authorized the complete replacement of the HVAC system at Munger Cottage last Tuesday, July 9th and hired a local company to handle the work. The parts for the new system have been ordered and will be installed as soon as they arrive.

Former Construction & Demolition Debris Dumping Ground Off-Gassing Methane: Developer Working On Getting DEC Approvals To Move Forward on Cleanup and Capping. What is not in dispute is that the Village of West Haverstraw has a methane off-gassing, 34-acre, uncapped construction and demolition debris landfill sitting along Ecology Lane and Beach Road, that was never properly closed.
