After four years, the Corpus Christi Songwriters' Songwriting Contest returns

Local songwriters will soon be able to put their talent to the test in the long-awaited return of the Corpus Christi Songwriters' Summer 2024 Songwriting Contest.

The last time the contest took place was March 2020.

The month-long competition, open to seasoned songwriters as well as newcomers to the music scene, starts Monday, July 1 and will close at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, July 31.

There are no limitations on numbers of submissions, but it is $25 per song submission. Songwriters can submit three song submissions for $50.

The contest is strictly online and original music is the only requirement.

The top three will be invited to participate in the next scheduled Corpus Christi Songwriters' showcase.

The sole contest winner will receive a spot within next year's Corpus Christi Songwriters' Festival line-up, recording studio time, cash prizes and more.
