Veterans Memorial junior Billy White III picked up his biggest offer to date on Wednesday as the 6-foot-7 forward announced an offer from Tennessee on X (formerly Twitter).

The offer from the SEC school is the sixth offer for the burgeoning prospect including Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UTRGV, Sam Houston State, UTSA and Nevada.

White averaged 15 points, six rebounds 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks in his sophomore season and was recently ranked 112th in the nation by 247 Sports and 89th overall on the On3 basketball rankings.

White's sophomore campaign helped Veterans Memorial win the District 29-5A title and advance to the Region IV-5A tournament for the second consecutive season, garnering first-team All-South Texas accolades.

The junior could become the first player from the Corpus Christi area to ink with a power conference program since 2006 when Calallen's Will Paul signed with Stanford.

Miller's Jamaal Lucas was a walk on at Cincinnati when the school was still a member of Conference USA, playing four seasons for the Bearcats.

Carroll graduate Chris Richardson played at UNLV in the late 1990s and early 2000s, choosing the Runnin' Rebels over Arizona, Texas and Houston, before going on to play for the Harlem Globetrotters.
