26 dogs rescued from deplorable conditions at Ohio home
HUBBARD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (KDKA) -- More than two dozen dogs were rescued from deplorable conditions at a home in Ohio, an animal shelter said.The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County said the 26 dogs and their elderly owner were found living in "deplorable conditions." The dogs were brought to the shelter, less than 10 miles across the Pennsylvania border.The rescue happened after humane agents got a tip about a home in Hubbard Township, CBS affiliate WKBN reported. Keith and Jill Gunther are real estate developers who have flipped many residential properties in the Valley and The Downtown Getaway is their latest project. This newly renovated 2000 square foot flat in the Boyle Building, was built in 1931 by Attorney Boyle for his law offices in Downtown Warren. Now the Hubbard Township police department has nearly $2 million in reserve. It’s so financially sound, the trustees have decided not to ask voters to renew a $1.75 million levy originally passed in 2001 — that generates $163,000 a year.
Local hospital’s 100th anniversary marked by burying of time capsule
The sisters visited the hospital Tuesday to join in on the festivities. It included the unveiling of items, including newspaper articles and other memorabilia found in a 1980s time capsule discovered during St. Joseph Riverside Hospital's demolition in 2022.
