Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Daniel B. Brubaker, the Inspector in Charge of the New York Division of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (“USPIS”), announced today that ANTHONY ALFANO was arrested after he made a series of graphic and violent threats to kill U.S. Postal Service (“USPS”) employees and burn down U.S. post offices in Ossining, New York. Yorktown Adopts New ATV Law in Response to Vehicular Assault
YORKTOWN, N.Y. – The Town Board adopted new regulations for all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and off-highway motorcycles on Tuesday in response to a vehicular assault in a public park last summer. Under the new local law, it is illegal to operate an ATV or off-road motorcycle on any public property in Yorktown. The new law also forbids operating any state-registered motor vehicle, including Jeeps, 4x4s or trucks, on town park trails. SOMERS, N.Y. - An employee of The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has been charged with physically attacking a disabled resident, state police said. Jossette F. HAVERSTRAW — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old man accused of fatally shooting Christian Alvarado on July 1. Police have re-released a wanted poster for Yandie Martinez with the $5,000 incentive to get information on his whereabouts. Police have sought Martinez for questioning since the 29-year-old Alvarado died from multiple gunshot wounds.

A Pomona toddler was in critical condition after being hit by a car Friday morning. That’s according to News 12. The accident occurred around 9am on Marion Court in Pomona. Haverstraw Police reportedly told News 12 the 19-month-old boy was walking outside when he was hit by the car. The driver stayed on-scene and police are investigating.
