NJ man charged after making online threats — from jail!
OAKLAND — A man already behind bars was charged with making online threats against law enforcement officers. Todd Gentile, 55, of Oakland, was charged after the office's Cyber Crimes Unit discovered "an emerging pattern" of posts on social media threatening to shoot law enforcement, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Person fatally struck by NJ Transit train in North Jersey, officials say
A person was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train Wednesday afternoon in Bergen County, officials said. The person, who was not identified, was struck by a Port Jervis Line train at 3:29 p.m. near the Plauderville Station in the vicinity of Van Winkle Avenue in Garfield, according to an NJ Transit spokesperson. The train had departed Port Jervis at 1:35 p.m. and was originally scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 3:54 p.m.
