As small-business owners decide to retire or move on, some are helping to fuel the trend of worker-owned cooperatives in Minnesota and elsewhere. These operations are described as businesses owned equally and self-managed by participating employees. A 2021 report found a 30% increase in worker-owned cooperatives in the United States, with nearly a dozen in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

SUPERIOR, Wis. - The second of three accessible birding events is scheduled in Superior next week. Hosted by the Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve and other local partners, all are invited to attend the two-hour event. Held at the Millennium Trail in Superior the “Everyone Can Bird” event is focused on “graduation to migration.” An ASL interpreter will be available as well as 15 binoculars, a spotting scope, a wheelchair mount for binoculars, and an all-terrain track chair. Registration is encouraged but not required.
