MN Billboards Highlight Missing Indigenous People
Billboards across Minnesota are highlighting open cases of missing Indigenous people through the efforts of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR) Office. The campaign aims to bring renewed hope to families searching for their loved ones, some of whom have been searching for them for decades. The featured individuals include Leo Coleman Cortez, Kateri Mishow, Mato Dow, Nevaeh Kingbird, Melissa Eagle Shield, Melissa Burt, Jeremy Jourdain, and April Geyer. Billboards have been installed in multiple locations, including Minneapolis and Burnsville. MMIR collaborated with families, law enforcement, and Crimestoppers to gather case information.

Minnesota Wants Public Feedback On First Draft of Cannabis Sale Regulations
(The Center Square) – Minnesota's Office of Cannabis Management released its first draft of recreational marijuana sales regulations, and it wants public input. Since recreational marijuana was legalized in August, this will be the first set of rules for the state’s cannabis industry. The entire draft of rules, which is more than 100 pages long, is available for review until Aug. 30 on the state office’s website.

ATWATER, Minn. – A Kandiyohi County sheriff’s deputy is now charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing his patrol vehicle last month. Stearns County considers $325M justice center
Stearns County residents will vote up or down this fall on a proposed sales tax to build a new $325 million jail, courthouse and law enforcement center in St. Cloud — an ambitious “justice center” project that will relieve pressures on existing undersized and aging facilities, including a historic downtown St. Cloud courthouse built more than 100 years ago.

Another summer weekend means two more summer festivals in Wright County communities. In St. Michael, the 17th Annual Daze and Knights Festival will take place today (Friday) and Saturday.
