In-state 5-Star LB schedules Alabama visit
Anthony Jones is set to visit Alabama and Auburn this month. Jones is a 2026 linebacker prospect out of St. Paul’s Episcopal High School in Mobile, Alabama. He currently garners a five-star rating from multiple recruiting sites with offers from schools from around the country. The rising junior is set to visit the Auburn Tigers on July 27 and make his way to Tuscaloosa on July 28.

Alabama's Kayla Beaver signs with AU Pro Softball
Alabama pitcher Kayla Beaver has signed with Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball and will make her professional debut at the Championship season in Rosemont, Illinois. Beaver was a 2024 NFCA Second Team All-American and USA Softball Player of the Year Finalist for the Crimson Tide. In her senior season, she made 40 appearances, including 30 starts. Beaver recorded 15 complete games in the circle and threw a seven-inning no-hitter in her Alabama debut against Villanova on Feb. 8. Her ERA was an impressive 1.68, holding opponents to a .196 batting average.
San Francisco Giants select Alabama LHP Greg Farone with No. 208 overall pick in 2024 MLB draft
Left-handed pitcher Greg Farone became the third Alabama Crimson Tide baseball player to be selected in the 2024 MLB draft. Farone was selected in the seventh round with the No. 208 overall pick by the San Francisco Giants. Farone spent one season in Tuscaloosa. The New York native spent time at both Herkimer College and Louisville prior to arriving in Tuscaloosa. In his lone season in Tuscaloosa, Farone recorded a 5-3 record and a 4.94 earned run average. Scooter’s Sales to Benefit Tuscaloosa City Schools Next Week
A local coffee outfit will donate a portion of their proceeds to help Tuscaloosa City Schools next week, they announced Tuesday.
