The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) updates its West Nile Virus dashboard each Friday during surveillance season, which is July through September. Though West Nile cases in Kansas remain limited this year, and there have been no reported cases in Barton County, all of Central Kansas is still listed by KDHE in the highest-risk category. TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Horton woman was sent to the hospital after an I-70 crash on Friday in Shawnee County. The Kansas Highway Patrol Online Crash Logs stated that around 2:51 p.m. on Friday, July 19, a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu and a 2012 Honda Odyssey were traveling eastbound on I-70, just east of MacVicar, in Shawnee County. The Honda Odyssey slowed due to traffic when the Chevrolet Malibu rear-ended the back of the Honda Odyssey.
