On and off showers continue through the end of the weekend
On and off showers will continue into the overnight hours. The best chance for rain looks to be for our southern counties. Although not a complete washout, a few showers and storms could linger on into Sunday afternoon and potentially even Monday. Nothing is expected to be strong to severe with our next couple of rain chances.

Topeka police Saturday afternoon were investigating the fatal shooting of a Lawrence man found the previous night in a vehicle at Holliday Square Shopping Center. No arrests had been made. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) updates its West Nile Virus dashboard each Friday during surveillance season, which is July through September. Though West Nile cases in Kansas remain limited this year, and there have been no reported cases in Barton County, all of Central Kansas is still listed by KDHE in the highest-risk category.
