While they had no plans for new music, Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland are returning to the stage. When their fellow country musicians reached out about a tour, they knew that, "Yes!," was the right answer!

Sugarland and Little Big Town have already collaborated this year with their cover of Phil Collins, ' Take Me Home.' At the 2024 CMT Fest, the two bands performed it. In late October, they will join together on the 'Take Me Home' Tour. Also touring with them will be The Castellows.

Six years ago, Sugarland released the 'Bigger,' album. Previously, their songs 'Stuck Like Glue,' and 'Stay,' were very successful on country music charts. Their new EP, 'There Goes the Neighborhood,' was recently released on August 9th. The album is four tracks of unreleased work from back in 2019.

Also on August 9th, 'Little Big Town Greatest Hits Album' was released. The record is full of new takes and sounds on the classic favorites of the great country band.

Sugarland has been very involved in the writing process of their previous work, but uniquely, these recently released songs were written by others. The title track, 'There Goes the Neighborhood,' was written by now divorced couple, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd in collaboration with Connie Harrington. Another newly released track, 'Georgia is Yours,' was written by country music star Thomas Rhett, his father Rhett Atkins, along with Sam Ellis, Josh Kerr, Eric Olson, and Emily Weisband.

The duo doesn't plan on any other surprises as of now but put emphasis on the unexpected beauty of this EP and tour. Nettles says, 'We’re not working on anything right now. The joy of this was doing it the way we did it. I would be open to exploring the same process again, in terms of other people’s songs.'

Although they had taken a step back from the stage, Nettles and Bush have stayed plenty busy. Bush continues to produce for other big artists such as Megan Moroney and Runaway June. Nettles has recently finished filming the televisions series, 'The Bondsman,' which she stars in.

In their interview with Billboard, Bush laughed saying, "Neither of us are in retirement."
