Parker McCollum, the award-winning country star, recently took on a new role, as dad! His wife, Hallie Ray Light gave birth to their first son, Major Yancey Tyler McCollum on August 8 of 2024. The McCollums announced the new on Instagram; the caption of the post read, '8/8/24 💙💙💙.'

The couple announced that they were expecting back in February with an Instagram post reading, 'God's little blessing. We Iove you so much already, Baby M,' already hinting at his name.

Parker accidentally revealed that name in an interview with The Spencer Graves Show a few weeks ago. In a later interview with Entertainment Tonight, he said, 'I got in a bunch of trouble when I got home last week. I didn't know that interview had started. I did not- I was not aware that they were recording that. And um I got a swift kick in the butt when I got home for spilling the beans on that, so much so that I don't think that's gonna be his name now. I don't think she likes it now that everybody knows it.' Although the early name reveal was accidental, the name was ultimately kept.

Hallie and Parker were seen together at the Academy of County Music Awards in May where Hallie's baby bump was clearly shown off.

A few days before Major's arrival, Parker made it clear that he was very excited about becoming a dad when a social media post said, 'Minnesota & Wisconsin were electric this past weekend. They were also the last two shows I’ll ever play before I’m a dad. I’ve got two weeks off to welcome little man into the world this week and I am so grateful to God for a healthy Hallie Ray, a healthy baby, the best fans in the world, the best band and crew in the world and the best friends and family ever. Going to enjoy this much needed time off and HAVE A FREAKING KID. 48 hours till I’m forever known as dad. Love yall! See you soon!'

Parker is taking some time off from his 'Burn It Down' Tour' to enjoy some family time with his sweet new little boy. The 'Pretty Heart,' singer is scheduled to resume the show again later in August.
