Road resurfacing projects in full swing in Green
GREEN — Several roads throughout the City of Green are under construction as the city’s summer resurfacing program is underway. Paul Ciocca, an engineer for the City of Green, said this year’s resurfacing is ahead of schedule and going well. He said the city is contracting with Karvo Companies for the resurfacing of several residential streets throughout the city as work got underway in early May. Green City Council approved an $805,000 contract with Karvo Companies in April.
Akron officials announce final 3 locations in the running for new police station
Akron officials have narrowed down the search for a new police station to three locations, according to a Monday news release. The three options include renovating the Harold K. Stubbs Justice Center, the police department's current headquarters; building on green space located at 178 S. Forge Street, which used to house a Wonder Bread bakery or using a building located at 80 West Bowery St. currently owned by Akron Children’s Hospital.
