COLUMBUS, Ohio — Rite Aid is aiming to close nearly 20 additional stores in Ohio as the pharmacy chain continues through its Chapter 11 bankruptcy process. According to documents filed on June 28 and July 1 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Rite Aid proposed the closure of 18 more stores.
Pet show in Bowling Green is the cat's meow
BOWING GREEN — The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department will hold its 63rd annual pet show on the Needle Hall stage at City Park, 520 Conneaut Ave., at 7 p.m. July 10. Pet enthusiasts are invited to participate and showcase their animals. Participants are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early. Categories for judging include best groomed, most unusual, shaggiest, best dressed pet, biggest rodent, largest and smallest dog, slimiest reptile, and bird that tweets/talks the loudest. New grant to trim cost of sewer work in Ravenna Township's Chinn Allotment
RAVENNA TWP. − Homeowners in the Chinn Allotment stand to save a little more money on a pricey sewer project in Ravenna Township, thanks to another grant toward the project. Daniel Blakely, director of Portage County Water Resources, said the department applied for $500,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds toward the Chinn Allotment, which he said would lower the cost by about $2,000 to each "benefit user." Residents now are facing a $16,000 assessment per lot, plus additional fees for things such as tying into the system.
