Pitt Basketball 2024-25 Schedule So Far
As the summer goes on, expect to see several non-conference matchups released one by one as insiders report on new games that the Panthers have added to the schedule. As of June 11, this is where Pitt’s 2024-25 basketball schedule stands. Mark your calendars, because the Panthers have brought in some serious talent and bring back Jaland Lowe, Ishmael Leggett, and others.
Neal Shipley ties for 20th in PGA Tour debut at Rocket Mortgage Classic
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Neal Shipley tied for 20th place at the Rocket Mortgage Classic this weekend in his PGA Tour debut.The Mt. Lebanon native and Central Catholic graduate carded an 11-under-par 277 over four rounds at the Detroit Golf Club in Michigan. He took home $113,068 for finishing tied for 20th, according to Golf.com.Shipley tallied two eagles, 17 birdies and 43 pars after playing 72 holes in his first PGA Tour event. At this year's Masters Tournament and U.S. Open, Shipley won low amateur honors. This weekend's Rocket Mortgage Classic was Shipley's second professional event. He finished inside the top ten in his PGA Tour Americas debut in Victoria, British Columbia. Up next for Shipley is the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. He will play on a sponsor's exemption. The event runs from July 4-7.

WPIAL Forward Earns Fifth Division One Offer
On Monday, another WPIAL prospect earned a division one offer. Montour forward Ama Tening Sow earned an offer from UT Martin, he announced on Twitter. The 6-foot-9 center plays for All-Ohio on the Nike circuit during the summer and Montour High School during the school season. The Senegal native originally moved to the U.S. to play for First Love, a former prep school in Washington, PA. After the program left the area, he then transferred to Montour to play WPIAL ball.

The 2024-25 Pitt Basketball Coaching Staff
Capel is entering year seven at the helm. The 2022-23 ACC Coach of the Year has been at Pitt longer than he was ever at Oklahoma or VCU as head coach, and the Panthers’ program continues to rise under his leadership. Despite the team missing last year’s NCAA Tournament, the Panthers once again finished with a .667 winning percentage and, last season, earned 4th place in the ACC.
