    Cranberry Twp. shelter in place lifted, suspicious person 'no longer a threat'

    3:30 P.M. UPDATE from Cranberry Police: As of 3:30 p.m. July 2, there is no longer an active threat and the shelter-in-place is canceled. Law enforcement officials will release additional information later this evening. Thank you for your vigilance and support during this matter.

    3:15 P.M. UPDATE: According to KDKA Radio's Marty Griffin the suspicious person has been shot and is "no longer a threat."

    Griffin adds the suspect suffered a fatal gunshot wound.

    Cranberry Police are asking some residents to shelter in place as officers look for a suspicious person.

    Police say the suspicious person is wearing a Washington football shirt and/or hat.

    “All Township residents should shelter in place and lock doors. Please call 911 ONLY for sightings of suspicious person,” Police said in a Facebook post.

    Police said earlier that the person was believed to be in the area of Glen Eden, Freshcorn, Powell and Unionville Roads.

    Police were at the Cranberry Highlands Golf Course after an incident was reported. People were told to go home.

    SWAT and officers from multiple agencies are on the scene, including Pittsburgh Police. KDKA Radio also confirms helicopters are in the area.

    The Cranberry Township Waterpark, Graham Park and Camp Cranberry have all closed. The YMCA in Cranberry is on full lockdown as well.

    This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
