    CRANFORD, NJ - Want to be part of a Cranford tradition? Join the 4th of July annual Canoe Races. The fun begins at the Cranford Canoe Club at 8:30 a.m. and the races include the following categories:

    • 10-13 years
    • 14-20 years
    • 21 and older
    • Ma & Pa
    • Mother & Child
    • Father & Child

    There is also a marathon race for participants ages 13-17 and 18 & older. No more than 3 participants per canoe and life jackets are mandatory.

    This town tradition, which has been running for more than 20 years, is sponsored by Cranford Recreation and Parks Department. Spectators can cheer from the Springfield Avenue Bridge, while racers of all ages climb into canoes and paddle for a chance at victory.
