A 59-year-old Monroe man driving a large truck for a tree service said he was turning into a private driveway when an approaching Honda Accord made an erratic lane change and hit the side of his truck. The 33-year-old man driving the Honda said he attempted to pass the truck because he was in a hurry. No one was injured, but the Honda driver was taken to jail due to not having a driver’s license and his vehicle registration was expired.

ATLANTA – The Small Business Administration opens a Business Recovery Center to assist 11 Georgia counties. Businesses affected by the water main breaks, which occurred from May 31 to June 6, 2024, in 11 Georgia counties, may now apply for low-interest Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The SBA will open a Business Recovery Center (BRC) on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
