Mobile City Council vote on affordable housing proposal held over
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A vote to approve Mobile District 2 City Councilman William Carroll’s affordable housing proposal will have to wait at least another week. Council members and members of the administration all agree that the city needs more affordable housing but much of the discussion is about how exactly do we get there. Carroll has proposed a Mobile revitalization cooperative district that would be governed by a board of directors that are appointed by the city. He said he plans to contribute $2 million-$3 million from his discretionary capital funds for his proposal.
