1 dead in fiery crash between train, car in Sauget, Ill
SAUGET, Ill. (First Alert 4) — An investigation is underway after a man died in a crash between a car and train early Saturday. According to Sauget Police, the accident happened around 2 a.m. Saturday on Route 3, in Suaget, Ill. A man was driving a Blue F-150 truck southbound on Route 3 when he ran into the train’s second engine. The man died on impact; he has not been identified yet.

Car catches fire on I-55 in Herculaneum
Flames engulfed a car this morning, July 26, on southbound I-55 in Herculaneum. The car was on the interstate’s shoulder near the McNutt Street exit. Herculaneum Fire Department Chief Kevin Baker said his department was called at 7:42 a.m. about the blaze. He said the first firetruck arrived at 7:52 a.m., and the car was fully involved in flames.
Health system based in STL to sell 13 facilities
St. Louis-based nonprofit health system Ascension reached a deal to sell 13 facilities in Illinois. Ontario, California-based Prime Healthcare is buying the properties, including nine hospitals. Prime Healthcare plans to invest $250 million in facility and other upgrades as part of the deal.
