LTD starts several new initiatives focused on well-being of riders
EUGENE, Ore.-- Lane Transit District is going the extra mile to help the welfare of its riders by introducing new initiatives focused on helping riders in need. The initiatives by LTD created a Community Resource Liaison that give the riders a person they can get in contact with revolving around their personal struggles. Sarah Koski is part of two newly formed initiatives that aim to give riders access to connections for housing solutions at the station. In her experience with helping the homeless community before working for LTD, Koski said offering help sooner rather than later is far more beneficial to the person in need.

Oregon girl one of 200 missing children found in nationwide operation
The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), with the help of local law enforcement agencies, conducted a six-week national operation, leading to the recovery of 200 missing children. According to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), this was the second Operation We Will Find You 2. The operation took place from May 20 to June 24. It focused on geographical areas with high clusters of critically missing children. One of the areas was Portland, Oregon.
