( KRON ) — There is a big rig fire in the eastbound lanes of I-80 in Crockett, according to the California Highway Patrol. The vehicle fire, which is west of San Pablo Avenue just past the Pomona Street exit, is currently blocking the right lanes and exit ramp. The left lane was also blocked earlier but has since been opened.

The CHP was notified about the fire at around 9:04 a.m. The big rig, a gray semi truck caught fire while heading east on I-80. The driver, according to the CHP, pulled over to the right shoulder, partially blocking the Pomona Street/Crocker exit.

CHP personnel along with the Crocker-Carquinez Fire Department responded. Crocker FD is still working to contain the fire.

The CHP is advising motorists to expect delays, use alternate routes and avoid the area. There is no estimated time to reopen the roadway.

The fire is contained to the big rig and has not spread to any surrounding vegetation, according to Crockett-Carquinez Fire Department PIO Steve Trotter. The big rig is filled with trash and fire crews are working on removing the trash from the burning trailer.

The two right lanes have been closed along with the exit. The left lanes remain open for drivers to access the Carquinez Bridge, the CHP said. Caltrans has also closed the Cummings Skyway on-ramp to I-80 eastbound. Drivers are being diverted through Crockett.

No one has been injured as a result of the fire, according to fire officials.
