Local Area Teams Battle Weather, Each Other in Annual “Raid at the Rock” Competition
It might not be full on contact football, but 7-on-7 is still an exciting time for these young high school athletes to iron out the kinks during the summer while facing some tough competition looking for the same result. ATLANTA — A career and technical student from Perry County was recognized at the 2024 SkillsUSA Championships, held in Atlanta, on June 26-27. More than 6,000 students competed at the national showcase of career and technical education. Laura Tompkins Named New Superintendent of Zanesville City Schools
ZANESVILLE, OH – Laura Tompkins, a long-standing member of the Zanesville City Schools community, has been appointed as the new superintendent. Tompkins, who has been with the district since 1994, brings a lot of experience from her roles as a physical education teacher, elementary school assistant principal, and high school principal. Her leadership in these positions has been marked by her focus on student achievement and creating a supportive educational environment.
