Kyreon Lee has joined Morgan Murphy Media CBS affiliate WISC-TV/3 (Madison) as morning co-anchor. Meteorlogist Audrey Leigh has departed Gray CBS affiliate WSAW/7 (Wausau). As first noted by RadioInsight, Brook Stephens announced that she is no longer with Leighton Enterprises’ KZPK/98.9 (Paynesville-St. Cloud) due to budget cuts. Stephens had also been voice-tracking for Leighton stations in Fergus Falls and Grand Forks.

Natural areas hike set for July 6
Town of Verona Board member David Lonsdorf is inviting community members on a hike to explore one of the town’s many natural areas: Badger Prairie County Park. Badger Prairie County Park, also known as the Ice Age Junction Natural Resource Area, is one of Dane County’s largest parks and hosts a huge, mature prairie restoration with lots of hiking trails. There are spectacular views from the higher spots. In July, the prairie will be at its peak with many species blooming and many pollinators working the flowers.
Staying fit in Fitchburg: McKee Farms Park adds FitCore Extreme Fitness Equipment
If there already wasn’t enough to see and do at McKee Farms Park, the city has just added a new feature. On June 27, City of Fitchburg Mayor Julia Arata-Fratta, along with the Fitchburg Chamber of Commerce, Fitchburg Parks department and community members, held a ribbon cutting at the McKee Farms Park for the new FitCore Extreme 8 circuit fitness equipment.

Behind the Isthmus cover: July 2024
There was some serendipity around the choice of our cover artist for July. Art director Tommy Washbush met Chase A. at Madison College’s graphic design program’s most recent portfolio show and the artist was very much on his radar for a future cover. Coincidentally, Kay Reynolds, an Isthmus cover artist from last year, recommended Chase to him out of the blue. So Tommy says he went ahead and offered Chase July’s cover illustration.
