Weekend forecast now dryer but still wet next week

Friday's Weather Headline: If you're looking for a short break from the rain, this is the forecast for you! If you want more rain, we've still got plenty to come after the break! Read on for more details.

What we're tracking: The mischievous tropical wave/low that has been parked right along our coast the last 48 hours is expected to continue to sit there crawling NE towards the Houston area. Due to the Crossroads being on the western "dry" side of the system, shower activity will now be much less widespread the next couple days as we remain on the west edge. Going into next week, a deep upper level low traversing the Canadas will send a cool front into Texas and stall or turn into a stationary front nearby on Monday. This stalling front will allow for rain chances to ramp back up as showers and thunderstorms will likely develop along the boundary's edge.

Next 24 hours: Rain chances have dropped significantly for today and tomorrow. Chances both days at 20% for perhaps a few spotty showers around the area. Partly cloudy skies will ensue for all both days with patches of mostly cloudy skies. The mornings should be pretty sunny with clouds slowly increasing. Behind the passing clouds. Highs today for most in the low 90s with few along the coast in the upper 80s near 90. Humidity will be high providing heat indices up to 105-107.

Extended forecast: We partake in that short break from the rain before it surely comes back next week! Highs graciously continue in the low 90s with some in the mid 90s and some in upper 80s. See below for your 7 Day Crossroads forecast!
