St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting in Port Huron Township
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early July 7 in the area of Campau and Marchen streets in Port Huron Township. Just before 4 a.m. July 7, Central Dispatch received a 911 call of a subject who had been shot, officials from the sheriff’s office said. Deputies responded to the 2400 block of Campau Street and located a subject with a gunshot wound to his leg. The subject was transported to McLaren Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Large warehouse fire in St. Clair County contained, EPA monitoring air quality
(CBS DETROIT) - A large warehouse fire in Port Huron's industrial park is contained. Crews continued to work on putting out the smoke and flames into Sunday evening.Port Huron Fire Chief Corey Nicholson said the fire began around 11 a.m. Sunday morning at Beard St. and 22nd St. Authorities were notified by a fire alarm, the building was unoccupied.Chief Nicholson said there have been no civilian injuries, but one firefighter was taken to the hospital with a cardiac related issue.He added they were rotating firefighters consistently as they battle the flames and heat outside."The warehouse contains finished and unfinished car parts, car accessories, plastics of that nature so there's a lot of combustible material and rack storage here," said Nicholson. "Fire's under investigation at this time, it'll be quite awhile before we have a cause and origin." The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy said the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has been notified and could be found at the scene, conducting air-monitoring.
$1800 worth of crack cocaine seized in St. Clair County DTF search
A narcotics search warrant executed last week saw the seizure of about $1800 worth of crack cocaine and the arrest of three people in Port Huron. The St. Clair County Drug Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant in the 1100 block of Port Huron’s 9th Street last Thursday, June 27. While executing the warrant, DTF members located the large amount of crack cocaine, as well as a large amount of cash, drug paraphernalia, packaging material and a scale, and ultimately took three subjects into custody.
