Man fatally electrocuted after ending up on Metro Red Line tracks near North Hollywood, LAPD says
A man died Saturday on the Metro Red Line tracks in a tunnel between Universal City and North Hollywood and it does not appear he was hit by a train.The Los Angeles Police Department says a 30-year-old man was found unconscious and not breathing at about 2:51 p.m. He died at the scene.It's believed the man touched the "third rail" and got electrocuted, LAPD said.He was not a Metro employee and it's unclear how he ended up on the tracks."Metro expresses its sympathy for the tragic death that occurred in a cross passage between the North Hollywood and University City stations on the B Line this afternoon," said Metro spokesman Jose Ubaldo on Saturday."Metro reminds the public to never walk on train tracks and to stand behind the yellow line on all rail station platforms," Ubaldo said. USC's Jonah Monheim breaks down offseason gains, talks Caleb Williams, Miller Moss
In a sea of change, Jonah Monheim is a welcome constant for USC. The fifth-year senior returned for one last ride in cardinal and gold. It's more than just a victory lap for both Monheim and the Trojans. Barring injury, on Sept. 1, Monheim will start at center for USC. He replaced Justin Dedich this offseason. When he crouches over the ball against LSU, he'll get game snaps at his fourth different offensive line position at USC. Monheim started all 13 games on the offensive line as a redshirt junior in 2023. He started 12 times at left tackle and moved to right guard for the Holiday Bowl. He was named to the Associated Press All-Pac-12 second team. In 2022, he started 11 times at right tackle and 3 times at right guard. He was named an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. Monheim has appeared in 40 games in his career, with 34 starts (18 games at right tackle, 12 at left tackle and 4 at right guard).
